For me, the taste trumps these negligible fat and sugar contents as I do not use vinaigrette often, and even then, only in very small quantities.

Comment on Goodie: Kraft Extra Virgin Olive Oil Fig and Balsamic Dressing and Marinade

i'm concerned: does it have a lot of sugar in it? what about high-fructose corn syrup? i've been using this: Lucini: Fig and Walnut Savory Artisan Balsamic Vinaigrette

Comment on Online Grocery Order from IGA

I've ordered a few times online from the IGA nearest me; they're actually on Ile-des-Soeurs, and they've always done a good job. Sometimes they had to replace some of the meats I ordered with different sizes, which changed the price of my order slightly, so I'm not sure I understand their methods (I mean, if you're listing stuff by unit, shouldn't that mean you already package and sell stuff in those units?), but overall it's a really nice service when the weather is cold, icy and generally unpleasant! It's a bit pricy, and you can't always get the speciality items they actually have in-store, but it's definitely worth it for all the important staples that you can't get at the dep.

-reposted due to a technical issue

Comment on Starbucks VIA

This seems like a Starbucks response to the recession. People can have Starbucks brand coffee for 72 cents a cup instead of $3. I like the concept of a "thesaurus for cooks," as I too tend to follow recipes closely. There are certain things I can make by feel, but not many. It's definitely a gift. But it sounds like this would be just the book to help home chefs expand this gift, so I'm totally adding it to my wish list!

Comment on Blog-Adoration

Thanks for the shout-out! I keep walking past this place, as I noticed that their cheeses were retailing for extremely high prices for such a working-class neighbourhood, but your quest for a thrifty assortment is an excellent reason to stop in. Thanks for this!

Comment on Goodie: Sunkist Naturals, Orange Cream, Orange Protein Smoothie

My mistake, it is 3.99$ for a 1L bottle, and yes, the carbs are high, but most juices are already high in carbs, and what I like about this particular smoothie is that it packs a solid amount of protein (11g). That said, I don't think I would buy it for 3.99$ (I draw the line at 3$) However, I could buy OJ and add protein powder right here at home for much less, actually, "whey" don't I do that?! lol!

</rdf:RDF>
