Awesome! I like the concept of a "thesaurus for cooks," as I too tend to follow recipes closely. There are certain things I can make by feel, but not many. It's definitely a gift. But it sounds like this would be just the book to help home chefs expand this gift, so I'm totally adding it to my wish list!

Great article! I keep walking past this place, as I noticed that their cheeses were retailing for extremely high prices for such a working-class neighbourhood, but your quest for a thrifty assortment is an excellent reason to stop in. Thanks for this!

I have a small, hand held fine-toothed cheese grater that I like to use for my garlic. Sure, I could mince with a knife, but I'm a lazy chef. It also does a good job with the parmesan, And even carrots. I've had it for six years, use it daily, and it cost me a whole dollar. Gotta love Honest Ed's.
